This Week's Updates
Dear Families,
I hope you all had a relaxing holiday period. We are very grateful to be living in Victoria rather than NSW as we commence this term with all students on site.
Please be prepared to keep unwell children at home and help prevent the spread of various illnesses, not just Coronavirus.
This morning we welcomed two new families to our community. Charlie (Prep O) and Jack (2D),Joshua (1P) and Mila (4D). We hope the Weekes and Crisostomo families feel the St James' hospitality soon.
The organising committee of our 50 Year Celebration planned for Sunday 25 July met on Friday and after considering many factors and conducting a risk assessment decided to cancel the event. While this is most disappointing and unfortunate, it is the responsible thing to do for both our local St James and the wider community. We have organised some commemorative wine sales and encourage you to purchase a bottle or a box as a momento and fund raiser for our St James community. Details and ordering information will be available soon.
Our Year Five students departed for their Sovereign Hill Camp this morning. I will return tomorrow afternoon and the students return on Wednesday afternoon.
Don't forget that the Year 6 Level Mass is on this weekend - either the 6:00pm on Saturday or 9:45am on Sunday at St John's church, where the students will make their commitment to celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Year 4 and 5 students are looking forward to their excursion to the Alexander Threatre at Monash university on Thursday 22 July. The excursion forms are being sent via Operoo. Please remember to register, if you haven't had a chance to do so already. We don't want anyone missing out!
This week, we also have two past students completing their Work Experience over this week. Karina Geraghty is also on board. Her placement is for the next four weeks, to complete her certificate to become a Learning Support Officer.
Lots of children enjoyed the new games they discovered this morning!
