Principal's message

Dear Parents/Carers,

JAMO FAMILY CARE GROUP 2022

We are once again looking for new members to join the Jamo Family Care Group.  The group is volunteers within our school community who are able to assist families in need during times of bereavement, ill health or if there is a change in family circumstances. We ask for assistance with providing meals, baking or lunchbox fillers as required throughout the year. Notes have been sent home with students or click the below link. If you require any further information please contact the school office.

FATHER’S DAY

I had the pleasure of attending the Lions Club Father of the Year breakfast this week at the City Memorial Bowls club.

It was a wonderful celebration of the work, love and nurturing that fathers, father figures and other significant men have in the lives of our children.

We know that every family has their own configuration and that there is not one example of the nuclear family but to all those father’s, grandfathers, guardians, uncles and brothers who mean so much to our children we wish them a fantastic day on Sunday.

Children across many schools in the Warrnambool City and Moyne Shire submitted entries for the Father of the Year competition. We had quite a lot of entries from our student body which was very pleasing.

ROAD SAFETY JAMIESON ST/ NELSON ST

Warrnambool Primary students, parents and teachers assisted in developing the Botanic Precinct local area traffic management plan. The plan was funded by the TAC and Council worked with people who worked, lived and went to school in the area. You can find out more information here: https://www.warrnambool.vic.gov.au/keeping-everyone-moving-inner-north

One of the projects which Council has applied for funding is to upgrade the School Crossing in Jamieson St near Nelson St. The view is to slow traffic and make it safer for the children who cross at that location. We will keep you updated with this.

LAST DAY OF TERM 3- FRIDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER 2022

SCHOOL DISCO

What a great time was had at the school disco on Friday night. It was so good to see so many students turn up. There were some great outfits and even better dance moves. A big thank you to the Parents Association for organising such a wonderful event.

JAMO JUNIORS

We had the pleasure of welcoming some of the Prep students who will be starting next year. The Jamo Juniors program assists with the transition from kinder to school and runs over 4 sessions. This week's session was a classroom visit where they were able to familiarise themselves with the Prep classrooms. We look forward to welcoming them back in Term 4.

Have a great weekend everyone!
