R U OK DAY - Thursday 8th September

WARRNAMBOOL PRIMARY SCHOOL REALLY CARES FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Today is a reminder to check in on the people around us. If you have a feeling that someone you know or care about isn’t behaving as they normally would, perhaps they seem out of sorts? More agitated or withdrawn? Or they’re just not themselves. Trust that gut instinct and act on it.

Ask them:  "R U OK?"

How to ask "Are you OK?" | R U OK?

R U OK? is a suicide prevention charity encouraging Australians to start life-changing conversations, when they're needed most. Four simple steps guide you to ask "Are you OK?", and help someone in need safely and comfortably. A conversation can change a life.

Keeping our kids safe

One of the most important things we can do as educators, parents and caregivers is to protect our children by educating them about personal safety. Teaching children simple strategies about keeping safe can help them build confidence, resilience and empower them to be safe in a variety of situations.

Below are some resources to assist having these conversations at home. If you would like to discuss any of this information further please contact the school and ask for Wellbeing.
