Physical Education and Sport
Over the past fortnight, our students have been focussing on the following skills:
Prep – Striking
Grade 1/2 – Throwing and catching
Grade 3/4 – Invasion Games
Grade 5/6 – Sport Education in Physical Education Program (SEPEP), linking to community sport. Each class has selected an invasion sport and are running their own class roster.
What a team! Congratulations to our superstar netballers who represented Rolling Hills at the Eastern Metropolitan Region Netball Championships on Tuesday the 16th of August. The girls played extremely well together for their 3 pool matches to make it to the semi-finals. They won their semi by 2 goals and played against St James in the Grand Final. After a huge day, the girls narrowly missed out on the win. What an outstanding achievement to make it to this level of competition and to finish runners up!
Thank you once again to Cass Kinloch for coaching the girls and to Nicole Donnelly and all the families and friends who supported the girls on the day. Congratulations Amber, Chloe, Jazz, Lacey, Lily, Olivia, Ryley and Zoe, we are so proud of you!
For the last two weeks, our Prep students have participated in activities practising the following skills: running, jumping, crawling, hand-eye coordination, throwing, rolling, balancing and skipping. A big thank you to our Grade 5/6 students, who continue to show great leadership and enthusiasm whilst assisting with these sessions.
