Food Drive
Did you know that around 1 in 9 individuals do not have access to enough food? The Year 9 Community Service elective acknowledges this serious issue that many are facing and want to address it. On Tuesday 13th September – Friday 16th September (Week 10) the Year 9 Community Service wants to hold a food drive for the Salvation Army. This organisation has goals to unite individuals, bring hope to those who are experiencing hardship and to help give to those who need it the most.
If you are taking an interest in helping aid this project then we’d appreciate you purchasing items that meet the requirements, however we’d also appreciate it if you bring in long lasting foods that you already have at home.
Here are some of the things you can donate:
- Canned foods (soups, meats, vegetables)
- Uncooked rice
- Pasta
- Powdered milk
- Beans
- Lentils
- Dried fruits
- Flour
- Nuts
- Protein bars
- Oatmeal
- Honey
- Tea & coffee
- Bottled Water
- Ramen noodles
If you are wanting to take part in this project then please drop off your long-lasting food at the Year 9 Staff Office during week 10. We would like your help and ask you to donate so we, as a community can help aid this cause.
