District Athletics

Yesterday on the 1st of September a select range of students headed to Duncan McKinnon Reserve to represent our school in a variety of events. These included favorites such as relays, hurdles, long jump, discus and much more!

Students represented our school with great distinction and could be seen cheering not only their peers but students from other schools as well. They made us very proud as usual!

Please read on to hear some thoughts from a few students on their day!

'I really enjoyed doing the long jump! I loved jumping into the sand.' Veronika 3/4

'The running races were my favourite because I like running. I also loved that my Mum and other parents came along to cheer us!' Primrose 3/4

'I enjoyed cheering on our school and doing my race and that everyone tried their best!' Chloe 3/4

'I loved how encouraging everyone at Athletics was! That was people from our school, but also the other schools. Some of the events were quite tough, but everyone had a go.'
Sophia 5/6

'I loved the relay because it was very competitive! Doing athletics can be tough, but everyone tried their best and had lots of fun.'
Caleb 5/6

A massive congratulations needs to go to Simon Addicoat for not only his organisation on the day, but his preparation with students all term.  All our children knew what to expect on the day and were ready for the challenge!

We also congratulate some of our winners on the day who will now progress to the next level of events.
