Grade 5/6

Melbourne Zoo

What a way to start Term 3. The Grade 5/6 students went to Melbourne Zoo to start our Inquiry Unit on Animal Adaptations. We had an Education Session where we got to look at the structural adaptations of bones of various animals and how these help them to survive. Some groups then learnt more about the Lemur's (who are such interesting characters) and the Meerkat's. After our sessions we had time to explore all the other animals identifying their structural, behavioural and physiological adaptations.

It was such a fun day and an awesome way to start our unit. Thank you to the teachers (Miss Buzzini, Mrs Eastwood and Mr Jones), the Aides (Angela, Amy, Briere and Elissa) and all the parent helpers who came on the day. Bring on Term 3!
