Italian Day

Ciao

This week we had Italian Day- it was fantastic! Lots of dressing up: Mario and Luigi characters, a hand made Ferrari (red of course), a hand made Vespa, some Carnivale folk, some famous soccer players and our staff who were all Gondoliers.

Hot cioccolata and biscotti was on offer and enjoyed by all!

In class students participated in many activities including Bocce, Pinocchio quoits, an Italian quiz, Leondardo Da Vinci sketches and pasta art among other activities.

A whole school Assembly saw the Italian National Anthem sung, a mini play performed, an Italian Waiters Race completed and YAGIT (You Are Great Italian Awards) presented- as well as prizes for the drawing competition. Huge thanks goes to our fabulous Italian teacher Daniela Catta who put all the hard work in to make sure the day was a great success!

Woodwork incursion:

Please see the Foundation and Grade1/2 pages for lots of photos from this fantastic incursion.  Lots of fun making exciting treasures.

Grade 5/6 Excursion to Melbourne Zoo

"As part of this Term's learning, our grade 5/6 students enjoyed a day at the zoo thanks to Zoos Victoria and their Animal Adaptations and Features Program!

Normally we think our students are the brightest stats but the animals definitely stole the show!" ( ACPS Facebook page).

BOOK WEEK 2022 20 – 26 of August

Each year, across Australia, the CBCA brings children and books together celebrating CBCA Book Week. Throughout the year, the CBCA works in partnership with authors, illustrators, publishers, booksellers and other organisations in the children’s book world to bring words, images and stories into the hearts and minds of children and adults.

To celebrate book week at ACPS we will be having a dress up and activity day on the Friday the 26th of August. We encourage all students to come dressed as a character from a book.

If you are unsure of what to come dressed as click the link below for some ideas.
