Music News- Week 21

Music Eisteddfod

The College’s annual Music Eisteddfod will be held on Sunday 7 and Monday 8 August 2022. One of the most exciting events in the College Music calendar, the Eisteddfod brings together students of all ages to perform to live audiences of peers and families, competing for House points to determine the winner of the Music Shield. Four performance locations across the campus witness hundreds of students playing and singing across the two days with panels of expert adjudicators, who provide supportive feedback alongside their awards selections.

Categories for the Music Eisteddfod include:

  • Piano
  • Guitar
  • Strings
  • Winds (all woodwind and brass instruments)
  • Voice
  • Composition
  • Percussion/Drumkit
  • Small Ensembles

Students learning through the College will largely have their enrolments in the Eisteddfod handled by tutors, and all students who take weekly lessons in singing or an instrument are encouraged to enter. For students learning externally, application for the Eisteddfod can be completed via the online entry form, or through the Music Office. Piano accompaniment for students is provided, with rehearsals organized through the Music Office.

Please contact the Music Department with any queries.
