Visual Arts

Today, we worked on developing our drawing with some simple activities to help develop our skills, as well as challenging our way of thinking and seeing.

The exercises include:

  1. Draw an image using your non-dominant hand.
  2. Draw an image without looking at the paper you are drawing on. Instead, follow the picture you are copying with your eyes.
  3. Draw a picture turned upside down.
  4. Draw a picture without taking your pencil off the page.

Our final drawing activity was ‘camouflage drawing’. Using a small starting pattern, continue to extend the drawing so that the original piece is successfully hidden once the design is complete.

Several students commented how they initially thought the exercises were ‘impossible’ but, found that it became easier with perseverance. Why not try it yourself!!!!!
