From the Principal
We have 2 weeks left of Term 2, and these will go by very quickly.
We continue to have a large number of students, and now teachers, absent with cold and flu like symptoms, and COVID. Please remember that if your child is unwell, they need to stay home until they are feeling better. This week, we have a number of staff absent with these symptoms too. As principal, I will endeavour to keep learning for students as normal as possible but please note, there may be days this is not possible and classes may need to be combined. If your child is absent, teachers are able to provide online learning platform details such as Reading Eggs and Wushka, as well as learning grids, so students can still keep up some learning.
Later this week, every parent listed on student enrolment details will receive an email inviting them to sign up to the school based app Xuno. We will be rolling out the features of this app slowly, beginning with absences and notification. Information regarding setting up your app is attached below. Eventually, parents will be able to sign and pay for excursions, change contact details and communication through this app with their child's classroom teacher. Please wait till you recieve the offical email before trying to set up your app.
Next week, students will be bringing home their mid-year school report. The format of these reports have changed slightly, based on parent feedback at the beginning of the year. We will be holding our 2nd Parent Teacher interviews in Week 8 of Term 3, however, if you have anything you wish to discuss with your child's teacher, you are welcome to contact them directly to arrange a time.
After the two week mid-year break, I will be on leave, taking a family trip back to Canada to spend time with our Canadian family and introduce them to their new family member, Mable. During this time, Mr Shuttleworth will be Acting Principal.
PLEASE NOTE : Class level news has not been included in this newsletter due to a large number of staff illnesses. It will recommence in the next newsletter.
