CELEBRATING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE@CSPS

Learning Tasks

Three times a term Learning Tasks are uploaded to Compass as a part of on-going assessment. On-going assessments provides parents with the opportunity to have up to date insight into what students are learning and how they are going with their learning. It is important that families are engaging in conversations around the learning tasks giving students an opportunity to reflect on and explain their learning, building awareness of their learning and their metacognative abilities.

Some tips to help conversations around Learning Tasks:

  • display learning task from Compass
  • ask student questions- eg: What did you have to do? How do you think you went? What would you do differently next time?
  • review teacher feedback together
  • praise, praise, praise!

In Victoria, all schools must provide a language program for students from Foundation to Year 10. At CSPS, Spanish is the language tought. Miss Natalia Lopo Morales (Year 5 classroom teacher) overseas the whole school Spanish language delivery at CSPS.

Weekly lessons are presented with a hybrid approach with Miss Natalia preparing Seesaw lessons, classroom teacher presenting and the use of the Education Perfect platform.

All students from Foundation to Year 6 are learning Spanish.  The focus for Semester one has been greetings, colors and numbers. Adios amigos.
