Passion Project

Year 8 Health Passion Project - Term 2 

Throughout this term in Health the entire Year 8 cohort have worked on a “Passion Project” in line with our Mental Health unit. We took a new approach this year working on strengths, self-talk, resilience and optimism in term 1 and keeping in mind “Health, Happy, Engaged” students, we took the pathway of allowing students to engage on their own task, working on their strengths (passions). 

The Passion Project involved the students choosing their own topic, coming up with inquiry questions to research and then presenting their Passion to the community through displays. 

On Monday 20th June we saw the Passion Projects come to life. The students set up in the senior centre, and wasn’t there a buzz around. We saw a wide array of projects from popular sports, crochet making, water colour, animations, cook books, perfume and more. It was fantastic to see parents & family members coming in to celebrate all the efforts of our students. 

We are very proud of the research and creativity the students put in throughout term 2.
