Hello, from Carolyn.

Hello everyone!

Welcome back for Term 3. It is always so wonderful to catch up with everyone after a break and to hear about what everyone got up to. It sounds like many of us made time to rest and relax- a great idea as I have a feeling that we might be in for a few weeks of winter bugs well and truly making themselves at home! Please continue to look after yourselves and keep unwell children at home where they can be looked after and recover.

New newsletter format.

To ensure our newsletter is accessible across a range of electronic platforms and to make it easier for you to find information in the newsletter we will now be using Naavi iNewsletter. It is certainly much easier to create and collate our newsletter items using this platform and the clarity of the photos is wonderful. I would love to know what you think of our new look newsletter.

Operation Guide update.

The Victorian government’s current advice about wearing face masks in indoor settings, including at school is a recommendation that people over 8 years of age wear a face mask in indoor settings, except for close contacts, who must wear a mask indoors unless an exception applies. If you wish your child to wear a mask at school, and/or they themselves wish to wear a mask, we will ensure they are supported to do that.

Wearing a face mask can help protect you, your child/ren and those around you. Face masks stop droplets spreading when people talk, cough, sneeze and laugh, which lowers the chance of spreading or catching the virus. This information is especially important for those who are medically at risk.

The rapid antigen testing program will continue with students and staff asked to test when symptomatic. We will send home RATs next week, if you need some before then, please let us know. Positive results must continue to be reported to the Department of Health and to us.

Visitors, contractors and volunteers at our school are no longer required to meet Covid19 vaccination requirements.

NAIDOC Week.

There were many celebrations held locally to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, I hope that many of you joined in to learn more about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

Accessible parking spaces at school.

A reminder that the accessible parking spaces at the front of the school are only for those people displaying a current permit and the vehicle is transporting the person the permit was issued to.
