Principal's News

Back To School

Staff enthusiastically welcomed students back to school this week! Our Prep - 2 students were on site from Monday to Wednesday. They were thrilled to be back with their friends, classmates and teachers. We were also pleased that the return to school for the 3 - 6 students was brought forward to Friday 22nd October.

We are looking forward to having all the children here at the same time on Wednesday November 3 after the Melbourne Cup.

Covid Restrictions

I hope that soon all restrictions will start to ease and everyone can be free to go where they want and do all the things that people love to do. I can't wait to get out of Melbourne and sample some of what the Yarra Valley has to offer!

In the meantime, we need to follow the health requirements from the Government. Hand sanitising, extra cleaning at school, wearing masks, making sure the classrooms are ventilated as much as possible and utilising outside spaces in the school as learning areas are all actions we are undertaking to ensure that everyone is safe.

I know that it can be inconvenient for families, but the Government and MACS requirements require that unwell children stay at home. We must send home children that display covid symptoms like a runny nose, headaches, a high temperature etc. We know the children have missed a lot of school over the past two years and would much rather them be at school; however, this is not possible if they are unwell in the current circumstances.

Planning for 2022.

Given the year we have had, 2021 just seems to have passed by and 2022 planning is upon us. Current families from Prep to Year 5 who are leaving the school at the end of the year are asked to notify the office by Friday 29th October, so we can continue planning for the new school year.

Wishing you all a safe and happy week.

Regards,

Steve Twomey.
