Visual Arts Term 4 Overview

I cannot wait for our artists to be back in the art room again. 

As students return onsite there will be a focus across all grades on the following: 

• Art making for mindfulness 
• Making art to express our emotions 
• Experimenting with a range of art mediums 
• Messy / hands on experiences 
• Collaborative art projects 

Here is an overview of the projects each class will be engaging in over the term. 

Prep 

• Book Week Activity – cupcakes with magic clay 
• Colours and emotions
• Indigenous Australian Rain sticks 
• Christmas craft – clay ornaments and angels 

Year One/ Two 

• Book Week Activity – cupcakes with magic clay 
• Colours and emotions 
• Mary Poppins prop design and making – Students to create kites
• Indigenous Australian desert art 
• Christmas craft – printed wrapped paper and cards 

Year Three/ Four 

• Book Week activity – 3D Portraits with magic clay 
• Expressionism and painting in the great outdoors 
• Mary Poppins set/ prop design and making 
• Christmas craft – Christmas tree baubles 

Year Five/ Six 

• Book Week activity – 3D Portraits with magic clay 
• Prep Buddies Soft Toy Project (sewing a soft toy designed for Prep students) 
• Mary Poppins set/prop design and making 
• Christmas craft – Christmas tree baubles 

*Students will bring home their art folios at the end of the term.

*Art smocks will be sent home to be washed once students return onsite. Please wash and return your child’s art smock back to school as soon as possible.
