How quickly the week has flown and very pleasingly I have noticed the ease at which our children have returned to online learning and the challenges of the Remote and Flexible Learning program.

“The Roadmap” provides clear return dates for all our students and we look forward to our students returning to school on the start dates listed below.

On those days your child is not at school, they will continue to access their online learning program.

The Essential Worker program will continue the same way.

Families who choose not to allow their child to attend on their designated return dates will not have access to Remote and Flexible Learning while their child’s class is back at school.

Students returning to school:

Will access their classrooms from 8.45am.
Will make their own way to class.
Year Prep to Year 2 students will be supported and encouraged to wear masks.
Year 3 and above students will be required to wear face masks inside. We will advise as further information is provided to us.
Will have well ventilated learning spaces and with opportunities for outdoor learning included in their daily timetable.
Students will need to stay at home if they show ANY COVID symptoms and not return until symptoms resolve. If they have been tested for COVID-19, they MUST also wait for a negative test result. Students showing any symptoms while at school will be isolated and a parent/carer will be required to collect them. It is important that any student who becomes unwell with COVID-19 symptoms while at school gets tested and returns home to wait for a negative test. The symptoms to watch out for are:
- Fever, chills or sweats, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss or change in sense of smell or taste
- Some people may also experience headache, muscle soreness, stuffy nose, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.

As we have more information and confirmation of dates for programs, external providers resuming, protocols and directions we will communicate these to you as quickly as possible.

We are looking forward to having the students and staff on site and back into the routines of school and our learning community. Children may be slightly apprehensive, but we all need to be broadcasting a positive message and making sure the transition back to school is as smooth as we can possibly make it for everyone.

A reminder that CJC hats are required school uniform in Term 4. Please ensure these hats are clearly and permanently labelled with the student name. Any student not wearing the appropriate hat will be required to stay in the shade for the duration of their recess breaks.

We recently posted the Naplan results to our year 3 and year 5 families and we have discovered that there are a number of addresses and contact details that have changed over time. Please make sure any changes to your contact details are updated in an email to the school.

Please update the school via email if your family will not be returning to school in 2022. This is important so we can plan accordingly, set up class structures and make the arrangements so we can make a strong start to the new school year.

Bonjour à tous et à toutes,

J’espère que la rentrée, dans des conditions un peu spéciales, s’est bien déroulée.

Nos professeurs sont actuellement en train de travailler à un retour échelonné qui permettra à nos élèves de profiter au maximum de leur présence à l’école pour reconnecter avec leurs camarades et leurs professeurs. Plus que quelques semaines avant que nos élèves se retrouvent tous ensemble!

Toutes mes félicitations aux 5 gagnants du concours Berthe Mouchette cette année. Les récitations se sont passées dans des conditions très spéciales mais celles-ci n’ont pas empêché nos talentueux élèves de se démarquer et de remporter le concours. Bravo à Lola, Victoria, Kyan, Mia et Anaelle pour leur fantastique réussite.

Conférence annuelle de l’AAFEBS

La conférence annuelle de l’AAFEBS se tiendra en ligne le 13 octobre prochain. L’ouverture officielle se fera sous l’égide de David Howes, Deputy Secretary du DET et Boris Toucas, conseiller de coopération et d’action culturelle à l’ambassade de France de Canberra (COCAC). Les professeurs bénéficieront de formation entre établissements durant les trois premières semaines. Un excellent moyen de fédérer les pratiques et partager les expériences en enseignement bilingue.

DELF

Le DELF est un diplôme officiel, de qualité, harmonisé sur les niveaux du Cadre européen commun de référence pour les langues. Ce diplôme est reconnu dans le monde entier, et il est valable à vie.

Le DELF est un diplôme nécessaire à la constitution du dossier de demande de nationalité française et pour accéder aux universités françaises. CJC a décidé de mettre en place cet examen depuis 2019, en classe de 6e. Les élèves sont majoritairement présentés au niveau Junior B1. Cette année, l’examen aura lieu au début du mois de novembre. Les conditions de passation, encore floues à ce jour compte tenu des restrictions, vous seront communiquées très prochainement.

Our teachers are currently working on the staged return to school to allow our students to maximise their time on site and reconnect with their friends and teachers. Only a few weeks before our students are all reunited!

The recitations went well, in different conditions, but nothing has stopped our talented students making their mark and winning a spot in the competition. AAFEBS’s Annual Conference

The AAFEBS annual conference will be held online on October 13. The official opening will be under the aegis of David Howes, Deputy Secretary of the DET and Boris Toucas, Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Action at the French Embassy in Canberra. (COCAC) Teachers will have the opportunity to participate in various training shared between schools during the three first weeks. An excellent way to bring together our practices and experience in bilingual teaching.

DELF

The DELF is an official certificate, a guarantee of quality, aligned with the common European language reference framework. This certification is recognised worldwide and is valid for life.

DELF is part of the documents requested when applying for a French Nationality, or to access French Universities. CJC adopted to implement the certification in Grade 6 classes since 2019. Most students are assessed in Level Junior B1. This year, the assessment will take place at the start of November. The testing conditions are not yet known due to the changing nature of restrictions, but details will be communicated soon.
