Return to school and Pastoral Care Reports

We warmly welcome back all students and staff to the campus this week after an 18 weekabsence and while COVID-19 safety restrictions remain there is an excitement and determination to follow all requirements to keep everyone safe and enjoying the social aspects of the environment from the students.

As we return to school we need all of our Year 5 – 11 students acting responsibly on a busy Chatswood Campus so as to make the most of the term, complete upcoming assessment tasks in a calm and effective manner, and, more than anything else, to work positively with both staff and other students to the benefit and safety of all.

To assist the teachers in providing meaningful Pastoral Care and Academic Reports later this term, it is vital that students communicate well and honestly about their learning and challenges encountered both in lockdown online and now returning face to face. Evidence of learning and informed feedback are required, and all students should be engaging cooperatively and contributing positively to the learning environment to enhance their outcomes.

Where students are having difficulty transitioning back into effective learning please communicate this to teaching staff so that we can support students to make the most of the opportunities we enjoy.

Year 12 Wellbeing Award “Punching Above for Wellbeing” Callum Fitzgibbon

As our Year 12 graduate with great acclaim this week to begin their HSC on 9 November it is timely to celebrate one of our unsung Year 12 Wellbeing Leaders. Year 12 student Callum Fitzgibbon has been a great behind-the-scenes advocate for wellbeing and overcoming adversity, throughout all our recent endeavours, both before and during lockdown. Callum supported Liam Chang's initiatives such as the recent Buddies Online Trivia Comp, he has always been a keen representative of the Student Empowerment Team and a keen participant of the Peer Mentoring Program. This year Callum also represented the College at the NSWCIS Football level as an official referee at the State Finals level.

Well done and a shout out to Callum.  You have been a fine advocate for selflessly promoting wellbeing across our school community.

Year 12 Graduation Assembly

Our Year 12 Students will be celebrating this important Rite of Passage this year under different circumstances in the lead up to their HSC. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Year 12 parents, in particular Mrs Thomson, Mrs Lo, Mrs Marino, Mrs Baldock, Mrs Chang, Mrs Hughes and Mrs Arena who have done much behind the scenes to support our Graduation.

Much appreciated.
