Prayer

Next Monday, 1 November, is All Saints' Day.  It is a day commemorating all the saints of the church, both known and unknown, who have attained heaven.

We give you thanks, O God, for all the saints who ever worshiped you

Whether in brush arbors or cathedrals,

Weathered wooden churches or crumbling cement meeting houses

Where your name was lifted and adored.

We give you thanks, for hands lifted in praise:

Manicured hands and hands stained with grease or soil,

Strong hands and those gnarled with age

Holy hands

Used as wave offerings across the land.

We thank you, God, for hardworking saints;

Whether hard-hatted or steel-booted,

Blue-collared or three-piece-suited

They left their mark on the earth for you, for us, for our children to come.

Thank you, God, for the tremendous sacrifices made

by those who have gone before us.

Bless the memories of your saints.

May we learn how to walk wisely

from their examples of faith, dedication, worship, and love.

Prayer Vigil for Liam Vinci

Friday evening's Prayer Vigil for Liam Vinci was a beautiful service, with so many of us able to gather to pray for Liam, his family and friends.  It was a special time for his family and friends who could gather together to reflect and remember what a special person Liam was.  Please continue to pray for Liam, his family, friends, and the Class of 2020.

Return of Years 5 - 11

The sound of students playing in the schoolyard, lessons in the classrooms along with bright faces walking through the doors on Monday morning made for a truly happy occasion.  All the teachers were back on-site ready to teach once again in person and the students were ready and 'raring to go'.

We are all re-learning how to be together again after a break from face-to-face learning of 18 weeks, including our smart presentation and behaviour in the classroom and playground.  It really has taken no time to get back into routine.  We thank all parents and carers again for their work in home schooling and also for the efforts in returning students to school in uniform.

At Assembly on Monday morning I reiterated to the students that we still must remain vigilant with our protocols to stay safe at this time.  We have not been around so many people in such a long time that the necessary hygiene and safety activities we were used to performing to before lockdown need to become uppermost again in our thoughts.  I reminded students of the requirement to be wearing masks at all times indoors, to remember good hand and general hygiene and to try to socially distance.

Year 12 Graduation and Presentation of Awards

On Thursday 28 October, the College will acknowledge every student in Year 12 at the online Graduation and Presentation of Awards which will be live-streamed from Oxford Falls. Year 12 students will be presented individually class by class and I invite all family and friends to join us for this occasion from 10.00 am - 12.30 pm.
