Mask painting workshop for Languages Week
From the 3rd to the 9th of June, we celebrated languages week. Every day at lunchtime, the languages faculty, the international team and the library offered activities. We kicked off the week with movies in Chinese, French, Italian and Greek in the GCC. Our Chinese teachers offered calligraphy and mask painting workshops with the support of our international students on Tuesday. On Wednesday, our Italian teachers sold delicious Italian gelati to a very enthusiastic crowd of students and teachers. The library hosted several activities and offered a table with a selection of books throughout the week. On Thursday, the giant language/cultural Kahoot took place in the library. Finally, we closed the week with French crêpes and Souvlaki trucks on Friday.
Our group of French students from the Centre International de Valbonne (located on the French Riviera near Cannes) have arrived. They had their first day at NHS on Tuesday the 11th. Ornella, Raphaël, Galassia, Mélanie, Clara, Alexandra, Félix and Maylis will attend classes with their Australian exchange partners. They will also attend specific classes offered by NHS teachers and take part in excursions. They will also visit some of our French language classes to interact in French with our students.
