Wellbeing

Thank you to the parents and family members who are abiding by the 5km speed limit whilst on school property. Please keep the safety of all our community members in mind and travel below the speed limit.

A reminder that, during afternoon pick up, on the senior campus, we ask that any parent /family member waits inside the fence. This ensures that the driveway is clear and everyone is safe. When moving to and from your car, please use the designated crossing and walk along pathways, including through the fenced off area in the senior school. The driveway is not for foot traffic during this time at all.

Friday 14th is National Walk Safely to School Day (WSTSD) is an annual event when all primary school children will be encouraged to walk and commute safely to school. It is a community event seeking to promote road safety, health, public transport and the environment.

WSTSD is an opportunity for parents and carers of primary school aged children to promote safe pedestrian behaviour and a reminder about the importance of close supervision for young children in all road environments. WSTSD also reminds us  of the significant physical, mental and social health benefits which can be achieved through regular walking. We would love to see more people walking safely to school on Friday (and any other day too).

Learning and Teaching

WHAT IS NATIONAL RECONCILIATION WEEK?

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. The dates for NRW remain the same each year; 27 May to 3 June. These dates commemorate two significant milestones in the reconciliation journey— the successful 1967 referendum, and the High Court Mabo decision respectively. Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.https://nrw.reconciliation.org.au/about-nrw/

Throughout Reconciliation week, a range of learning opportunities will be integrated in the classroom to continue to support our students to learn about our shared histories, the perspectives of traditional owners and how we develop respectful relationships across our nation.

Reports will be sent home onMonday 21st June

Parent Teacher Interviews will be conducted on Wednesday 23rd June: 2pm - 7pm and on Thursday 24th June: 4pm - 6pm.  More information will follow on Operoo.

  • Reports will be sent home with students on Monday 21st June.
  • Parent Teachers Interviews will take place over two days. The interviews provide an opportunity for parents to meet with classroom teachers to discuss their child’s report and how the school year has progressed so far.
  • Students in Year 3 - 6 are to attend the interview with their parents, students in Foundation - Year 2 are not expected to attend but are welcome to.
  • All interviews will take place on the Junior Campus.

We are currently in the process of exploring a digital platform for teachers to regularly share student’s work with parents. In light of this, there are no portfolios going home with reports. As further decisions are made we will keep you updated about how this new format will be trialled and feedback gathered.
