Our refurbishment

Updated Plans and Pictures

On Wednesday, at our second building site meeting we were most excited to see the demolition that is almost complete inside the building.

Our site meetings include Steph from MACS, Stephen from Hayball Architecture and Teddy, Alex, Mohammed and Fabian from Haddarco Construction, Cathy and myself. Throughout our meetings we talk through the many elements of the construction and what is happening in the coming couple of weeks.

As part of the meeting, we have the opportunity to walk through the building site and see exactly where things are at and also talk about any questions any of us have.

The majority of the internal demolition has happened and will be finalised in the coming week or so. Behind the office area has been opened up, the internal stairs near the foundation classroom are in the process of being demolished and all the classrooms have been completely stripped back to bare walls and floors.

Earlier this week, the external demolition started and there are many curious faces pressed up against the fence each play time to watch the machinery in action. Our green steps have gone and the rest of the area is starting to look unrecognisable.

As part of the external demolition, our fence line changes and toilet access changes and it has been pleasing to see the responsible way children are moving through the area at the back of our Foundation classroom.

Photos below capture some of the demolition as of yesterday. Keep an eye on Instagram for regular photo updates as more happens behind the Haddarco fence and I look forward to updating you each newsletter.
