A HAPPY OBLIGATION

We have enjoyed a fantastic Term 2. Seeing happy students as they enjoy the many aspects of college life has given me good reason to smile on many occasions.

The past several weeks have been busy ones, chock-full of experiences both on and off campus. Our students have shown such great excitement and enthusiasm towards these (and many more) Term 2 activities:

  • Anzac Day commemoration
  • Cross Country
  • St Joseph the Worker Feast Day
  • Carpenter’s classic
  • Mother’s Day Breakfast
  • Year 8 Grampians Camp
  • Senior Camps to both Melbourne and Hattah National Park
  • Business Management Stalls
  • Human-Powered Vehicle Pedal Prix

The quote, “It’s not happiness that brings us gratitude. It’s gratitude that brings us happiness.” inspired one of my recent blog posts about the latest return to on-campus learning. One week on, I continue to ponder the interdependency of happiness to gratitude.

Whether we realise it or not, gratitude conveys obligation. The above quote elegantly hints that we are in fact obliged to bear the responsibility of creating and curating our own happiness by recognising and appreciating all we have.

What an empowering thought. I commend our resilient and resourceful young people for happily shouldering all their responsibilities with an attitude of gratitude across these many months.

God Bless,

Mrs Marg Blythman
