Senior Girls Netball

Arriving right on time at the Ballarat Netball Association, the girls warm up consisted of their first game with stretching between halves. The senior girls commenced the day strong – beating both Phoenix and Mount Clear. The winning streak came to a halt when they faced the always challenging Ballarat High. Over the course of the day, the girls participated in a total of eight games without any breaks in between. We had a very limited bench this year, and the girls did a tremendous job of steaming through with minimal rests.

The girls ended the day on the high they started with, beating Woodmans Hill and displaying good sportsmanship, perseverance, and teamwork. On the whole, the girls worked well together as a team – encouraging each other and giving suggestions to improve their game – making it very easy for their coach!

Well done to Jaelyn Brand, Lainey Tiley, Billie Barton, Tayla Stanaway-Barker, Sophie Cook, Skye Alexander, Laura McLinden and Willow Parker for a wonderful day of netball. Congratulations to Laura McLinden on being awarded second best on – she didn’t stop running all day and ensured she was available to receive any pass. Felicitations, Sophie Cook! Sophie was awarded best on for the day, as she played almost every position on the court and excelled in all.

Gym Games

A big thank you to our amazing House Captains for running lunchtime activities once a week!

This term some of our student leaders have taken the initiative to run activities at lunchtime. The activities so far have consisted of a variety of gym games, but there will be other interesting activities on offer shortly. These endeavours have allowed students the opportunity to team up and interact with peers of all ages, and provide some entertainment for them at lunch.

It is great to see lots of people from all year levels getting involved and supporting our House Captains who generously give up their time.
