Outdoor Upgrades

Our Hands On Learning students have recently begun making some upgrades to the school grounds by constructing new garden beds and rejuvenating existing ones. Over the coming weeks this will be followed by planting them out with a variety of small shrubs and lastly mulching. We welcome the transformation and look forward to seeing the final result.

Special thanks to Miss Henry for the use of her tractor to move the soil, it made light work of a large task. What a great effort from all our HOL students, keep up the good work!

Meanwhile back in HOL headquarters students have been continuing to work on some creative and useful ideas to improve their workspace. The newest addition, a bag rack for students to utilise during HOL days.

Contestants were required to identify and rectify a series of pre programmed truck faults on two Isuzu prime movers, on loan from Isuzu for the duration of the competition. Sammy, who is currently working as a 3rd year, apprentice diesel mechanic at Ballarat Isuzu, represented Victoria/Tasmania as part of the two man team who took out the accolade, in what was an exceptionally close race. The grand prize will see both Sammy and his team mate enjoy hosted trips to the 2021 Supercars Boost Mobile, Gold Coast 500 event.

Sammy should be extremely proud of his achievement as it is a great example of the benefits of persistence and hard work. We would like to congratulate him on his outstanding accomplishment.

Uniform Policy

At B.S.C. we prioritise the importance of wearing correct school uniform as it demonstrates pride in our school and our values. As part of our uniform policy it is expected that all students adhere to the uniform requirements.

There are many options available, offering comfort and also warmth over the cooler months. Please ensure students have access to the correct uniform, for further information refer to the B.S.C. website. In circumstances where a student is reasonably unable to wear their uniform it is expected that a note will be provided from a parent or guardian.

NAPLAN

We would like to congratulate all our Yr 7 and Yr 9 students who participated in the NAPLAN testing. Unfortunately it can be a stressful time for many students so we would like to acknowledge the outstanding manner in which students conducted themselves over the course of the 3 days.
