Farewell to the Class of 2020

As third term concludes our prayers and best wishes go with the young men of Year 12 who graduate this week after thirteen years of schooling – a relief for many parents.

While we acknowledge and celebrate the gift of these young men to the College through farewells and graduation ceremonies, we are reminded of the challenge that lays ahead for them in the coming weeks with the Higher School Certificate written examinations, commencing Tuesday 20 October.

We are also reminded of the very busy and eventful term it has been for Year 12. Parents would know, having just got over the Trial Higher School Certificate examinations in August, that many of the boys completed a significant practical component of their externally assessed Higher School Certificate examinations such as oral examinations in Languages, major works in English Extension 2, Industrial Technology and Visual Arts, as well as performances for Music.

Parents would agree their son’s time here at St Patrick’s has been filled with some setbacks as well as joys and successes but overall, parents would feel a sense of pride in their son reaching this milestone at this College.

I wish every young man of the Class of 2020 all the best for the future as he embarks upon a new stage in his life – farewell Year 12, good luck and God bless.

A Reminder about the Year 12-2021 HSC Parent Information Evening

Parents of Year 11 are reminded of the online information evening to be held on Wednesday 14 October via Microsoft Teams commencing at 7.00pm to 8.30pm. A link to join the information evening will be emailed to Year 11 parents the day before.

The Holidays and the Year 9 Examinations

Year 9 students are encouraged to use the upcoming holidays wisely and not to let the entire time pass without having done some considerable preparation for their examinations which begin Monday 19 October, i.e., the second week back next term.

The examination timetable will be available on the Year 9 Canvas page before the end of this term. The assessments will all be written examinations.
