YEAR 9
During remote learning the Year 9’s have been working on informational texts. The students chose different types of jobs to research and created their own informative texts about them. Here are some of their amazing pieces of work:
We have learned so much about the skills you need for each job, and we discovered that the workers need the same characteristics as a Jackson learner! At your job you need to be safe, responsible and respectful.

YEAR 10A
Our online learning experiences.
Almost all students are engaged every day in school work and some students even do school work on the weekends as well.
During this second lockdown, our online learning experiences are better because we are able to use different platforms to help students.
Every day we meet at 9.00 am for literacy learning and 11.00 am for numeracy learning. The students in 10 A are divided in to two groups and one group will be engaged in extended learning.
Students are helping each other with the technical support and inviting those who are not present in the meeting.
At times, it is frustrating because connection problems can make difficult for some students to join in.
On the other hand, it is easy to mute students when teaching or unmute one at a time to ask questions or to discuss with an individual student.
When students were asked about remote learning, they had a few general comments.
They felt the second experience was better and they learned many things. Losing connections could be frustrating and sometimes the contents could be difficult to understand. However, they enjoyed posting many activities and were happy to see so many comments from parents and members of staff.
While there were moments of boredom, they were able to play the videos many times and push ahead with their learning despite missing the classroom atmosphere and the company of their friends.
We take this opportunity to thank all parents for their marvellous support of their children during these difficult times.
We also want to thank our fellow staff members for their continuous encouragements and support of our students.

YEAR 7/8D
HOORAY! We made it to the end of term 3!
In 7/8D we have so many things to be proud of this remote learning period. All students have been working really hard to catch up on activities this week, and those who are up to date have been doing some extra revision work. Some of the highlights of our remote learning period have been- expanding our ICT skills, making presentations, doing experiments at home and being able to look forward to a specialist activity at the end of each day! The best part of this week was being able to catch up on teams and see how everyone is tracking! 😊
Here is some of the amazing work completed in 7/8D this term:
