Principal's Message

Friday 18th September
Dear Parents and Carers, Jackson School has some exciting news to announce.
We will have two Assistant Principals from the start of Term 4.
Anthony Jackson will remain Assistant Principal and Robyn Procak is our new Assistant Principal. Robyn comes to us highly recommended from Ascot Vale Special School. We look forward to having Robyn join our school community. WELCOME ROBYN!
September Holidays begin Friday 18th September
The two weeks of September holidays are here and whilst we can’t go away or watch football finals’ we do have 2 hours a day where we can leave our home to visit playgrounds and parks, go for walks or ride bikes, or play outside in our back yards. Thank you to our students, families and staff for the commitment you have all shown throughout Term 3. I am sure you are all looking forward to a break from remote learning. Our efforts have contributed to Melbourne’s continuing declining COVID positive numbers. It’s not been easy for any of us but we have learnt that when we work together collaboratively good things can happen. Thank you for supporting your child and the teachers in keeping learning happening. Enjoy the break from school work.
Week 1 of Term 4 is the 5th - 9th October where remote learning will continue.
OUR STUDENTS RETURN TO ONSITE LEARNING 12 – 16 October (second week of Term 4)
Students in specialist schools return to full-time on-site schooling. Schools can offer learning materials for students who continue to learn from home. Specialist schools can stagger the return of different groups over the week. At Jackson School we want everyone back onsite on Monday 12th October. Let’s get back to learning together. It’s what we do best.
There are a number of questions about our Concert in the Courtyard, Sports Day and the Year 12 Graduation. We will need to be flexible this year to keep our traditions going. They will happen but may look different but we will do our best.
Teachers have attended onsite in teams this week to plan for their classes in Term 4. It has been good to have teachers working together using COVID safe practices.
Everyone shared that they just can’t wait to be back with all of our students.
Let’s get to the end together, safely so that we can all be back at school.
Joan
