Remote Learning Continues

Remote learning is sailing along very smoothly as we move towards the end of the term. Submissions to teachers are coming in regularly, attendance in Webex meetings is very high and our students engaging in remote learning onsite have found their groove and are engaging in the learning program with enthusiasm. While we are unsure at this stage of what Term 4 holds for us, whether it is a return to onsite learning or a continuation of remote learning, we know that we will be ready to adjust to any situation.

Week 9 Professional Practice Days

During week 9 a number of our teaching teams will be taking their Professional Practice Day together to plan for Term 4. On the day  they will be collaborating together and planning for the learning which will take place in Term 4, there will not be Webex meetings or small group sessions planned for that day. The teachers are creating a learning plan for the day which will provide independent activities for the students to engage in and will not require additional support from their teacher. Specific information will be shared when the learning programs for week 9 are provided by Team Leaders and classroom teachers.

Thank you

This will be my last contribution to the Concord School newsletter as Acting Assistant Principal. During my time at Concord, both in Secondary 9/10 and in this role, I have enjoyed coming into work each and every day and I would like to thank the community for the support you have provided me. We have navigated some challenging times and the feedback and input from the community has been extremely important in supporting that process. I would also like to acknowledge the teaching team and support staff at Concord who have helped me grow as an educator and school leader. Finally, my biggest area of gratitude is reserved for the students I have been privileged to work with at Concord. Getting to know and supporting the Secondary 9/10 students in my first years has been an absolute highlight of my time here and then extending that the entire school in my current role has been extremely satisfying. My favourite day of the week this year has been Wednesday’s when I have been timetabled to teach two classes every week, I am very disappointed that I will not see out the year with those classes.

I wish everyone in the Concord family good health & good fortune. I will miss being part of this community and hope to hear about and bump into many of our wonderful students in the future.
