Mr Irwin's Message

Mr Irwin's Message

Good Morning Families,

I wanted to touch base with you this morning to provide an update of arrangements as they currently stand for the beginning of Term Four.

As directed by the Education Department, the first week of Term 4 is to remain as Remote Learning in all Victorian Government Schools, subject to any further announcements.

In consultation with staff and School Council, we have elected to take

Doing this allows staff to access these days to complete important work for the term ahead without there being a constant disruption to student learning once the term resumes. Remote Learning will therefore operate from Wednesday the 7th of October for 3 days until Friday, before all students return to school on Monday October 12th.

Please note no on site supervision is available on the 5th or 6th of October. Those families requiring supervision for the three days of remote learning can make this request via the same process currently used.

Schools have flexibility in managing the return of all students to school. I believe that we don't require a staggered start to our return given our school size, number of cases in the Golden Plains Shire and given how supportive families were last time in abiding by protocols in place to support arrival and departure.

As per arrangements last time we returned from remote learning, parents and visitors won’t be permitted on site as we continue with social distancing protocols. Drop-off and pickup times were very successful last time because of your understanding and support. I have no doubt this will be the same in Term 4.

Foundation Transition and Graduation

I know many of you will be wondering about Foundation Transition and Graduation. We are very keen to finalise arrangements for these events. However we are awaiting guidelines from the Department about what we are allowed to do. What I can say is that both of these events will run in some capacity and we’ll do our upmost to ensure that we farewell our year 6 students in style, and, welcome our new Foundation students in the best way possible.

I want to thank everyone in our school community for the effort they've put in to supporting our students this year, be it staff or parents. If you have any further questions regarding these arrangements please do not hesitate to contact me at school. Have a happy and safe holidays and we look forward to the return of students on the 12th of October.
