Emmanuel Jal - former child soldier, now actor, singer and political activist

This week we had a special assembly for our Grade 3 to 6 cohorts.  We welcomed a very special guest whose inspiring message is to “Never give up, never give in”.  Emanuel Jal was a South Sudanese child soldier, forced to train and fight a war at a very young age. With hundreds of other war children, he eventually escaped and was one of the few to survive after a terrible journey of infections, illness, exhaustion, hunger and thirst. His survival instinct and desire to be part of the solution kept him putting one foot in front of the other, and he is here to tell (and sing) his tale. A big thank you to the Phillpot family who facilitated and fully sponsored this event.  What a gift!

Quel beau cadeau !
