Author Profile

Alice Oseman is an award-winning author, illustrator, and screenwriter, and was born in 1994 in Kent, England. She has written four YA contemporary novels about teenage disasters: Solitaire, Radio Silence, I Was Born for This, and Loveless. She is the creator of LGBTQ+ YA romance webcomic Heartstopper, which is now published in physical form by Hachette Children’s Group, and she is the writer, creator, and executive producer for the television adaptation of Heartstopper, which is set to be released on Netflix.

Alice’s first novel Solitaire was published when she was nineteen. Her YA novels have been nominated for the YA Book Prize, the Inky Awards, the Carnegie Medal, and the Goodreads Choice Awards.

Victorian Premier's Reading Challenge 2022

June News: Don’t forget the growing reading collection. 

Thank you to the many students who have suggested new books for the fiction collection.  At lunchtime the library buzzes with students leisurely reading, board game players, movie watchers, chess club and knitting  

At our last meeting, members brainstormed ideas for displays in the library.

Meetings are on Wednesdays at 12.40pm in the Library.

As residents of Victoria, we can all become a Melbourne Libraries online member to access a plethora of digital platforms from ‘BorrowBox’ to online newspapers.

Pop into the library for assistance or to ask a question.

Wednesday Movies @ the library

As the winter has hit with a blast, take the opportunity to watch a film during lunchtime. The calendar started with a ‘Night in the Museum’ starring Ben Stiller. Next, we delved into the amazing world of ‘Luca’ courtesy of Disney. Watch out for the nextfilm reveal!

Australian Children's Laureate 2022 : Gabrielle Wang

As the national ambassador for reading and Australian children’s literature, Gabrielle speaks on behalf of creators and the entire industry (reading advocates, educators, librarians, booksellers, and publishers). In promoting the transformational power of reading, creativity, and story, Children’s Laureate Gabrielle Wang will speak with children, educators, government ministers and librarians in communities across the country.

See the new Handmade Universe: From craft to code and the spaces in between exhibition, which explores how we connect with universal themes of place and identity.

The collection includes star maps and cyanotype photographs.
