Year 6 Art Show Reviews

2022 Art Show Reviews

This 2022 Art Show was amazing. The Art show theme was ``Where The Wild Things Are.” It was all about sustainability and reusing materials. There was an auction of the art pieces to raise money so we can add new and different things to the school.

The Art Captains came out and introduced the evening and explained where the exhibits were. A special guest came and her name was Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah.  She talked to the guests. Then the kids sang a song called “The Eagle and Me”, it was good! The Artwork was glamorous and I loved the Noah's Ark piece by the Sewing club.

The performances were lovely! My favourite was “The colours of the wind”.

ART SHOW  REVIEW

BY: CRUZ FERRES

Here at St Joseph's, we normally have an art show every 2 years and after three years, St Joseph’s has once again continued its art show event. “I can't keep track of how many we’ve had!” says one teacher.

During the art show, you could explore the school grounds while looking at the artwork done by the students. At the end of the art show, all the parents gathered in the hall and bid on all the wonderful artwork.

My likes for the art show were: the artwork and the fact that everyone was gathered together and having a good time! Our special guest for the afternoon was Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah (as well as everyone else being our special guests! - because here at St Joseph’s we think everyone is special in their own ways!).

REVIEW - Art Show 2022

By Annie

The name of the art show was ‘Where the wild things are’. We did this project over the year to raise money and keep sustainable with our resources.

Opening up, there was a speech at the start of the night and then families went off to look at our art. This was my favourite part as my parents loved looking at and feeling all of my amazing work. We also sang great songs beautifully and lucky I didn't stuff up!

The food was delicious! We ended with another song and then just hung out. I would highly recommend going to the 2024 Art show and I would definitely give this a 4 out of 5 star rating!

Art show review

The Art Show happened on the 18th of October 2022. The theme was wildlife, animals and the environment and the purpose of the Art Show was to raise funds for the school. We reused and recycled materials and the Art Captains helped set up and welcome the guests.

Lots of events occurred throughout the evening, including performances, gallery walks, raffle tickets, food trucks, auctions and more! Lots of Artworks were displayed for auctions, all gorgeous and unique. A special guest also came, Dr Michelle Ananda - Rajah. We were very honoured to have her.

The Art Show was amazing, from the colourful class pieces to the musical performances. I definitely enjoyed it and definitely recommend going to the 2024 Art Show!

Sophie's Review

St Joseph's was a big attraction on Tuesday night with them hosting The St Joseph's Art Show. The theme this year was ‘Where the Wild Things Are’, it focused on wildlife and nature with a few twists along the way.

We sold many things like raffle tickets and some silent auction pieces because The Art Show is a great way to raise money for the school.

During the event, the students had a chance to show their parents around the school with a gallery walk to show them all the beautiful artwork. Our class pieces went to auction and one sold for as much as $1800, which is a great amount of money for the school!

Each class worked really hard to learn their class song and when I tell you they were amazing, they were! The choir and ensemble presented a show-stopping performance and the School Song had all the parents clapping. We even had a special guest, Dr Michelle Ananda-Rijah, the federal member for Higgins who had a look at our artworks. There were even some food trucks like a Pizza and Gnocchi Bar and a Calamari and Chips Truck which were exquisite.

The Art Show was an absolute blast and I would totally recommend coming back in for the 2024 Art Show.

I am giving this year's St Joseph's Art Show a 5 out of 5 Stars!

ART SHOW REVIEW- Noah

Sometimes I wonder what St Joseph's will look like when I leave? Whether we remodel or create new events? Well, last night was what I’ll remember as my last Art Show at this school.

Our theme this year was “Where the wild things are”. It consisted of art based on animals and the environment. Really it was also a fundraiser and a way to showcase everyone’s art. This year we managed to raise a lot of money, all thanks to the wonderful parents we have here! The money is going towards things like new bike racks, play equipment, and future events like next year’s musical.

Each class got to showcase their class piece that got auctioned off to the parents. Bids went as high as $1800. Much love to all the parents that bought them! It was also estimated that there were 500 individual student pieces that were hung up around the school. Yes, that’s right 500! We even got a special visit from Dr Michelle Anana-Rajah, the federal member for Higgins. I recommend you visit our next Art Show in 2024!

St Joseph’s Art Show 2022 - Daniel

The St Joseph’s Art Show 2022 was the best one yet! It began at 5:00pm on the 18th of October, it was a warm and lovely night. The singing was great, the food was godly, and some of the art pieces were phenomenal!

This Art Show had it all: A food truck, bar, singing, and even a class piece auction. The Grade 4 peacock painting sold for $1800! There were around 500 pieces in the show and live songs. Each grade had a class song, as well as the junior choir, ensemble, and senior choir. I performed in 3 songs -  What a Wonderful World, Ode to Joy, and Joyful Joyful.

The theme of the show was Where the Wild Things Are - animals and the environment. We used as much recycled and sustainable materials as we could. We raised money to improve the school for future students.

But the best part was the calamari truck. Nothing can beat the calamari!

It seems like the Art Shows are just getting better and better. So if you like calamari, I strongly advise you to visit in 2024, because I’m sure it’ll be back!

Art Show Review by Joshua

The art show was an unbelievably spectacular experience! It was not just fun and exciting but dazzlingly creative! With over five hundred exotic and unique artworks on display, eight major pieces stand out among them as epic class pieces.

After weeks of work, the class pieces were auctioned off - tense and dramatic bidding wars took place!

But that’s just a fraction of the excitement! A beautiful and exquisite music concert was also held! Each class singing songs with mind-blowing voices, with tunes ranging from relaxing to dramatic.

For more enjoyment, there was even a calamari and pizza truck, serving delicious and warm chips, sauce, and best of all, calamari. Other things on sale included raffle tickets. It was so worth it! By spending just ten dollars, I won a thirty-dollar drink bottle!

In conclusion, the art show was fun and exciting and eventful!
