PFA Update

Nadine Power, PFA President

Welcome back for Term 4! I hope you all enjoyed the term break and managed to get some rest and relaxation.

We have a very busy PFA schedule ahead and look forward to getting together with everyone for our various events and celebrations.

A special shoutout to our Year 12 students and families as students finish up their classwork, head off for Swot Vac and then enter into the exam period. Wishing you all the very best.

CSR meeting and holiday catchup

MEETING DETAILS

Our last CSR meeting for the year will be held next Wednesday 19 October from 7.30 to 8.30pm.

This meeting will be held via Microsoft Teams and you can join the meeting here. We look forward to catching up with our CSRs from across all year levels.

YEAR 5 HOLIDAY CATCH-UP

During the Term 3 School holidays, some of our Year 5 cohort had a lovely time catching up at the Rollerama. Check out the matching skates.

Sale time at SHUS

Come one, come all, to the next opening of SHUS on Saturday 5 November where all items will be marked at 10% off

The SHUS team will be on hand to help out with everything that you need and the Shop will be open for an additional hour from 9.00am to 12.00pm.

Thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, there's a huge range of great quality items that have hardly been worn - and some not at all (they still have the original labels on!). There are major bargains to be had; for instance, a new blazer from Bob Stewart will set you back around $210, while at SHUS you'll be able to get a quality blazer for $130, leaving you with a huge saving!

Please note: No items for consignments are currently being accepted. We will advise as soon as we have space and uniforms will be accepted for consignment again.

If you have any questions, please contact Community Relations Officer Bianca Lapins at lapinsb@kilvington.vic.edu.au

Kilvington Cares

Each week, any Kilvington family facing difficulties receives a home-cooked meal via the Kilvington Cares Food Delivery program.

The meals are always appreciated, however perhaps even more special to the recipients is the knowledge that they're part of a caring and loving School community which is there for them in times of need.

If you know of someone who could use a meal and a big Kilvington hug, please contact Community Relations Officer Bianca Lapins via lapinsb@kilvington.vic.edu.au.

If you would like to sign up as a Kilvington Cares cook, you can do so here. Thank you.

Hospitality for ELC Production

ELC parents and carers please take note - the PFA will be providing refreshments before the performance of Home Is Where The Heart Is this Monday 17 October from 5.00pm.

Drinks and light snacks will be available to purchase in the Staff Lounge.

We still need a few helpers, so if you are available from 4.45 to 5.30pm, please sign up here. Thank you.

Staff Thank You Morning Tea on World Teacher's Day

It’s World Teachers’ Day on Friday 28 October and to celebrate our amazing Kilvington teachers, the PFA is arranging a special Morning Tea for them to enjoy.

We invite all families to deliver a plate/container/packet of baked or store-bought goodies to Main Reception or Junior School Reception from 8.00am on the morning of 28 October for our staff to enjoy during the Recess break.

Remember to note down if your food is gluten free, vegan, dairy free, etc, and no nuts please. All reusable and named containers, platters, plates and stands will be available for collection from Main Reception in the afternoon from 2.00pm.

We also encourage families to include a note, card or picture of appreciation to share with the teachers. Thank you in advance.

Parent input into the Strategic Plan

The next opportunity for parents to contribute to the Strategic Plan will be via an online discussion on Microsoft Teams on Wednesday 2 November from 7.00 to 7.40pm.

You will receive an Expression of Interest email prior to the discussion so that you can indicate your interest in attending. Following that, you will receive a link to attend the event.

Stay tuned for more information. If you have any questions, please contact Community Relations Officer Bianca Lapins via lapinsb@kilvington.vic.edu.au.

Nominations now open for the 2022 Judy Allen Award

Kilvington is extremely lucky to have highly engaged staff, parents and alumni who help create the strong sense of community the School is known for.

Each year on Celebration Night, a member of our School community is presented with the prestigious Judy Allen Award. This award recognises and celebrates a person who has made an outstanding contribution to the School for over a five-year period or more, just like the passionate and dedicated Judy Allen who held a number of roles at Kilvington, including student, parent, staff member and Board member.

The Award recipient receives a framed certificate and has their name included on the Honour Board in Dalton Hall.

Nominations for this Award are now open and close on 30 October 2022. Please find the nomination criteria and form below.

If you know of an individual who would be a worthy recipient of this award, please forward your completed nomination forms to Caterina Phillips via phillipsc@kilvington.vic.edu.au. Thank you.
