BOOK CHARACTER DRESS-UP DAY

On Wednesday 12 October, our students (and teachers!) had great fun dressing up for Book Character Day! So lovely to have such bursts of colour around the School!

ELC AND PREP AUTHOR WORKSHOP SESSION

On 11 October, author Jane Godwin conducted reading and writing workshops with the ELC and Prep students around her numerous picture story books.

In particular, she ran story writing activities where students were prompted to draw and design their own bears and stories based on her story, Bear Make Den.

Jane also ran a writing workshop with the Years 5 and 6 Enrichment students around finding ideas as inspiration for their writing.

Jane will soon be back in the Library to work with the Years 1 and 2 students.

YEARS 3 AND 4 AUTHOR WORKSHOP SESSION

On 10 October, the Years 3 and 4 students had a wonderful Kilvington Reads session with author Alice Pung and illustrator Sher Rill Ng on their book, Be Careful, Xiao Xin.

Sher demonstrated her illustration process and discussed how she uses images she finds as inspiration to create her characters. Junior Shen from Year 4 was also able to translate the story into Chinese for the students!

Frozen Jr performance

Congratulations to the cast and crew for their wonderful performances on 13 and 15 September at the Years 5 and 6 production of Frozen Jr!
