LIBRARY REPORT

Sally Govett - Teacher Librarian

From the Librarian's Desk

Less than 40% of Australians are confident they can keep up with technology.  At the College Library, we educate students on the importance of keeping up to date with technology.

The College has a "Bring your own Device" (BYOD) policy and students are encouraged, if possible, to purchase their own laptop for HSC studies. The Library is able to assist where purchase is not possible; if laptops are being repaired; or just run out of charge. In the last 2 weeks alone, we have loaned laptops to students on over 200 occasions, covering sessions during the day or overnight depending on the student's needs.

The Library is a great place to get help with printing, using apps, accessing files, uploading forms, working online, accessing free wi-fi, borrowing a laptop etc....

The College recently purchased a new photocopier and printer for the Library. Here students can print their assignments, resumes and work etc. From the start of 2023, money can be added to the student's ID card at the College Office.  This can then be used in the Library to pay for printing. Print quality is excellent and print copies cost 20c for black and white and 50c for colour.

Visit the Library regularly during study periods to learn what's available and get help when you need a hand.

Check out some Halloween thrillers and fantasies from the Library this month. Now is a great time to get in to reading!
