As we enter the last week of HSC Examinations, many students have already finished their exams, while some only have one or two to go. NESA's HSC Presiding Officer, Jill, and her team of supervisors have been extremely complementary about the way our students have conducted themselves during the examination period. Students will have time to relax and recover from all their hard work, until their HSC results are released on Thursday 15th December. We are very proud of all our students and wish them all the best for their future endeavours.

For now, all thoughts and preparations turn towards the Formal – the last big celebration for the Year 12 2022 cohort. This is always a fantastic event where Year 12 celebrate together with their teachers. A big thank you must go to the Wellbeing Team who have organised the event.

If Year 12 have any uniform items that are still in good condition, please consider donating these items to the College. They can be added to the uniform pool to support students who may need this support. If you do have items you are happy to donate, please hand in clean items to the College office.

Year 11 2023

It is that time of year where preparations are in full swing to transition Year 11 2023 into

Wyndham College. Subjects have been chosen and students will be preparing to attend the Orientation Day on 22 November. Students who have completed enrolment forms will receive an invitation to Orientation. The day event is for students only.

There will also be a Parent Orientation Evening on 22 November. Details will be included in the letter about the daytime event. The evening event is for both parents, carers and students. The Uniform Shop, run by School Locker, will be open on that evening so students can try on and purchase uniform items.

Year 12 2023 have commencedtheir HSC courses. This means that HSC Assessment Tasks will begin this term and students are expected to complete them. Students are reminded that all Year 12 Assessment Tasks form part of the student’s HSC mark. The school assessments form 50% and the HSC examinations make up the remaining 50% of their final HSC mark.

Attendance is an important part of completion for your HSC. All students are expected to attend every one of their timetabled classes, on time and involved in their learning. Unnecessary absences and truancy are placing students into ‘dangerous territory’ and unexplained absences will be considered as evidence of someone being a non-serious student and whose continuation at Wyndham College may be in question.

HSC Assessment Forum for Year 12 2023 Parents

We will be holding a Year 12 2023 HSC Assessment Parent Forum to explain the HSC Assessment process, HSC marks and surviving the HSC.

Car Parking

Many students will be receiving driving licences over the Christmas break so parking will, again, become an issue. All students who drive to school must complete a Vehicle Registration form available from the College office. Please be aware that the first bay, on both sides of the central garden bed, is reserved for Wyndham College staff. The second bay, also on both sides of the central garden bed, is for St John Paul II Catholic College staff. Both Wyndham and St John Paul II students can use the two most northerly bays on a ‘first in, first served basis’. Do not park in staff reserved areas, the WSU carparks nor the parking spaces reserved for the 'Tradewynds Cafe’.

Uniform

Is Santa bringing you black shoes for Christmas? Thank you for keeping up the standard. However, some of you are slipping, particularly in the area of footwear. Our uniform code states that black leather shoes are the uniform. So, if you are buying new shoes or placing an order with Santa, remember black leather shoes! Foot safety is a WHS issue. Therefore, you can expect restricted entry into science and other practical subject areas.
