Mission 

On Wednesday we celebrated our Year 12 Graduation Liturgy with a large presence of family members and our extended community joining us on the live stream. Our Liturgy called forth our young men and women to launch into the world carrying the light of Christ in their hearts and minds, this intention was reflected in the theme, ‘You are the Light of the World’. 

The Liturgy began with an entrance procession, where students brought forward symbols to place upon the prayer space, reflective of their time of learning, sport, culture, music and the arts at Mater Dei. The bond of love and friendship these students share will continue beyond Mater Dei Catholic College, holding a strong presence in their lives in the future. 

The Liturgy concluded with a beautiful ‘Go Light Your World’ Ceremony where the Students received a candle from their House Leader, assembled in front of the community as the class of 2022 and received a blessing, before venturing into their post-school lives. It was a very emotive and beautiful experience to see our students gather together for this poignant moment in their lives.  

God our Father, we come together as a caring community, ready to celebrate our joys, achievements, families and friendships. In the knowledge that you always walk with us, we bring our prayers to you….

Bless these students; your servants, with many achievements.

As these graduates begin new phases of their lives,

may they know your love and experience your peace in all they encounter.

Bless the parents of these students.

Give them strength in your continuing presence,

and give them many joyful reunions with their sons and daughters

who may be leaving home soon to begin new ventures

We ask this prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord.
