ROSES GAP YEAR 3/4 CAMP POSTPONED UNTIL Wednesday 30th November – 2nd December 2022.

Unfortunately with the severe weather warnings, predicted flooding and strong winds in the Victorian Wimmera and Ranges we were unable to participate in the Year 3/4 camp this week. While its upsetting, it was unavoidable and we are very fortunate that we’ve re-scheduled to 30th November to 2nd December 2022 inclusive at Roses Gap. Safety will always remain our top priority.

YEAR 5/6 CAMP

We wish our Year 5/6 students all the very best next week at Sovereign Hill in Ballarat.

REGIONAL ATHLETICS

Last week, a group of students represented Warrnambool Primary at Regional Athletics in Ballarat. They competed against students from across the Greater Western Region. Asher Dawe came 5th in 1500m, Jack Griffiths came 4th in 200m and 6th in 100m, Josh Lilley, Luke Farley and Brooklyn Maddocks came 5th in their relay heat, Starla Lilley came 4th in 200m and 6th in 200m and unfortunately the High Jump was cancelled for Quinn Hussey. It’s a great effort from all of these students to qualify and we congratulate them on their efforts.

WARRNAMBOOL PRIMARY PARENTS ASSOCIATION

Our very dedicated fundraising committee have some excellent plans for Term 4 2022. The Christmas extravaganza is scheduled for Thursday 8th December 2022 and this promises to be a great community event at the school. We ask all families to come along and enjoy the Christmas festivities as the students sing carols and other themed songs. It will take place on the school oval with food options available or you may choose to pack a hamper of your own. There is also a gold coin dress up day on Monday 31 October 2022. If students wish they can suit up in a Halloween theme or other dress if they prefer.

YEAR 6 GRADUATION & LUNCH

The Year 6 Graduation will be held on Thursday 15 December at 9.15am. We will celebrate their Primary years of schooling at Warrnambool Primary School. Later in the day we will hold a lunch for the students in appreciation of their achievement. It will be a great way to finish the school year.

FINAL ASSEMBLY

The final assembly will also be on Thursday 15 December 2022. This will take place at 11:30am. We will present our new student leaders for 2023 among other celebrations. We look forward to seeing parents at both of these celebrations.

GEELONG AFLW VISIT

We were very fortunate that the Geelong AFLW played in Warrnambool over the weekend. The Geelong AFLW team had some members attend our school last Friday afternoon to run a clinic on our oval with students from Year 5/6. The key message was for participation in football for all students but particularly a drive for girls who may be interested in getting involved in the future.

SUN SMART REMINDER

As part of our Sun Smart policy, it is compulsory for all students to wear a hat during Term 1 and Term 4. Warrnambool Primary School hats can be purchased from the school office.

END OF TERM DATES

Students will finish school on Friday 16th December 2022 with staff returning for curriculum and planning purposes on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th December 2022 but there will be no students required on those two days. This was approved at School Council last term. Their Care will be operating in the week before Christmas with the program running from Monday 19th - Thursday 22nd December 2022 inclusive. Please note that Their Care is not operating on Friday 23 December 2022 so please factor that into your planning.

Enjoy your weekend.
