A strong approach to assessment

Year 10 2022  |  Year 7 2023  |  School Bytes

Year 10 supporting academic success

Year 10 students will have a series of assessment tasks over the next three week period.

It is always important for our students to feel well supported in their academic endeavours, particularly at this time of the year. Several of these tasks have an in-built formative component to allow time for students to work on the task in class time and receive feedback from their teachers.

Most of these tasks will be examinations with some research and project based assessment tasks. They can feel assured that they will be well supported through the assessment period and teachers will cater for students by giving them advice on how to approach each task.

Our Junior Improvement program is there to cater for students who need additional support. Please ensure if your child needs this support that they embrace it with open arms.

Year 7 2023

Our Year 7 Advisers for 2023 are Priya Kumar and Amy Shannon. I have the privilege of being the Year 7 2023 Deputy Principal. As a team we are very excited about the events that will take place in term 4. Not only will we be continuing our visits with our local primary schools we will also be gearing up for events such as IMPACT Day and Orientation Day. All information will be sent out to Primary Schools over the up and coming weeks. The key to both days will be making connections and increasing confidence in our future Cecil Hills High School students.

IMPACT Day 15 November for invited students only.

Orientation Day 29 November for all Year 6 students that are coming to Cecil Hills High School in 2023.

School Bytes now at Cecil - Guide for our parents and carers

In the very fast paced world we live in, we understand the need for you, our parents/carers, to have the ability to receive and respond to communication at a time that best suits your needs. As a result, Cecil Hills High School are excited to announce our school will be engaging the services of School Bytes, who offer a simplified digital system for communicating with parents and carers. Changes you can expect are.

Online forms including permission notes, will be sent to you directly via School Bytes with a link enclosed. Select the link to open the secure online form.

Emails will be sent to you from noreply@mail.schoolbytes.education

The online form will have information about the activity with a section for a digital signature (either with a mouse or your finger) prior to submitting.

If the activity involves a cost, there will be a make online payment button on the form, which will allow you to pay securely, quickly and easily via credit or debit card after granting permission.

In addition to on-line payments and consent forms all Year 9 and 10 students will now be making choices through School Bytes on-line sport selection platform.  Our Sport Coordinator (Ms Lisa Saliba) has begun this process with our students, and it has been very successful.
