Primary Diocesan Touch Carnival
Congratulations to all of the students who participated in the Diocesan Touch Carnival last Friday. There were teams from Wee Waa, Walcha, Barraba, Glen Innes, Guyra, Armidale, Narrabri and Manilla. All of our students played great, showed sportsmanship and many learnt new skills. On the day we had 1 Holy Trinity team make it to the Grand Final – Trinity Warriors (Sam McLachlan, Will Hindley, Riley Schutz, Jack Horwood, Jack Stewart, Cooper Smith, Bindi Goldman, Brea Ellis-Brien, Charlotte McInnes and Maggie O’Brien). They then played against St.Edward’s School to see who would be Diocesan Champions. In a close decider, under quite warm conditions Trinity went on to win the Grand Final 3-1. A big thank you to our Year 9 & 10 PASS students for their help refereeing and managing teams, Mr Ben Sides for coaching and managing teams, our parents who helped in the canteen and to the other referees who came from Inverell High school on the day.
Year 3-6 Swimming
This term, as part of the Year 3-6 Sports program, we are taking all Primary children to the Town Pool for stroke development, water safety procedures, rescues and to participate in water activities. Students will be placed in a variety of groups and supervised by classroom teachers and aides. Some ‘Austswim’ qualified instructors will also be employed. Students will travel to the pool by bus from 1:45pm – 3:00pm each Friday, during sport, starting 17 November for 5 weeks. Cost will be $10 in total – this covers travel, entry into the pool and all instruction for the 5 weeks. Please return notes and money ($10) to your child’s classroom teacher by Friday 10 November. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact your classroom teacher or Mrs Dal Santo.
