STUDIO ARTS EXCURSION TO NGV

Top Arts is part of the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority’s (VCAA) VCE Season of Excellence, a five-month annual arts festival showcasing outstanding work from students in Victorian senior secondary schools.

"As someone who goes to Top Arts every year I found myself extremely impressed with the quality, detail and thought that went into each piece this year. Top Arts 2018 had a great range of different mediums for everyone to enjoy if you weren't interested in just drawing or painting. They have creations ranging from sculptures, fashion, embroidery, digital art and many more, so there is plenty to explore in terms of inspiration or if you were interested to see the young talent of today. What I really enjoyed from this year’s pieces was the combinations of materials like oil paints and string stitching because it’s creating something outside of the box giving the art more interest. Another one that caught my attention was a projections and Legos piece, this was really fascinating because it’s not usually classified as typical art so by including this in a public art show it’s showing the audience a nice range of talent to be seen or inspired by. Overall I was really impressed by what was produced this year and I’m excited to see what's to come next year."
