Ready to Learn

A reminder to all students to come to all classes READY TO LEARN. That includes having all the right equipment for learning.

In Maths classes the equipment that all students will need is as follows:

  • A scientific calculator - $21 from the school office.
  • Lead pencils x2
  • A ruler
  • A workbook
  • Geometry set (optional)

We are strongly advising all students to organise these items ASAP.

If assistance is required for some of these items students are encouraged to speak to Mr Rathborne.

Conoco Phillips Science Experience

In the January school holidays two of our students (Abby Taylor and Raven Smith) participated in the CONOCO PHILLIPS SCIENCE EXPERIENCE at the University of New England. The three day residential allowed 30, Year 9 and 10 students to meet like-minded students from across NSW and Queensland.

Our students took part in practical sessions including chemistry, precision agriculture, immunobiology, coding, meat and animal science, DNA and forensic techniques, soil science and both our students favourite, insect ecology. They were also able to check out the precision agriculture research group at the University’s SMART Farm and talked to loads of people who have achieved exciting careers with their  science degree.

Conoco Phillips Science Experience residential are available every school holiday at universities across Australia.  To find out more information go to: https://www.scienceexperience.com.au

The next residential at UNE will be between the 14-16 of January 2020. Both our students had an absolute ball and would strongly recommend other students participation in the program.
