Library News

Bookfair - April 2019.

Our Favourite Books.

To celebrate the start of the Premier’s Reading Challenge the library has created 2 new displays in the computer room. The first will track the books read for the PRC by group. As the competition progresses the board will fill up with books the students have read.

Next to this is “Our Favourite Books”. Each fortnight, a teacher, student and/or class will share what their current favourite book or series is. This fortnight we have Mrs Rice, whose favourite series is ‘Pig the Pug’ by Aaron Blabey. This series sees Pig attempting to understand friendship, losing, the gist of giving, and even the virtues of being clean. It is a favourite among many and for good reason.

Kindergarten Rubies in the Library

Kinder Rubies are enjoying listening to the ‘Library Lion’ by Michelle Knudsen being read to them. They particularly like listening to stories while eating their fruit break. This is a glorious tale about how sometimes new and funny situations can give you a new perspective.

Wings of Fire

Hayley Schulhin and Caitlin Spradbrow have been reading the ‘Wings of Fire’ series for quite some time. This fantasy series about dragons has them absolutely enamoured and clamouring for more adventures. The books follow the adventures of young dragons as they try to fulfil prophecies that will ultimately bring peace to their world. Hayley was disappointed to find that she had finished the series, while Caitlin is still going strong.
