Term 2

Term 2 was a busy and exciting term for the Reception classes.

Our Health inquiry about how we can keep our minds and bodies healthy gave us plenty of opportunities to discuss how we keep ourselves healthy.  There were many discussions surrounding healthy foods to eat, drinking lots of water and making sure we get enough sleep and exercise. We discussed how we can be the very best and created some fantastic books about ourselves. We also enjoyed an excursion to Mellor Park where we enjoyed games, playing on the playground and observational drawing. We took our lunch and had a picnic together.  Even though it was cold, the weather stayed dry. In the afternoon, back at school we enjoyed tasting lots of fruit and vegetables from all the colours of the rainbow.

We continued to gain confidence by performing a number of songs at both the Early Years and Whole School Assemblies.

We also visited the kindy a number of times during the term. It was great to catch up with the teachers to show them how everyone has changed and matured. A highlight of the visits was being able to hold some baby chicks who had just hatched at the kindy.

The final Friday of Term 2 coincided with our Reception children's 100th day of school. It was fantastic to see so many children dressed  up in our theme of "What would I have looked like 100 years ago?" It was fantastic to see so many creative costumes. We enjoyed games and activities based around the number "100" , made fairy bread with 100's and 1000's and created paper chains out of 100 pieces of paper.

We look forward to a successful term 3 and 4.
