Principal's Report

Dear parents,

International Women’s Day.

I would like to acknowledge international women’s day by celebrating the leadership and dedicated teaching of our staff.

Having worked in education for 19 years, I have been fortunate enough to meet, collaborate and learn with many amazing women; teachers, educational leaders and principals. Part of my core motivating beliefs is that I have a position of responsibility to create opportunities and encourage the growth of my colleagues, particularly my female colleagues.

My very first principal, Julie Symons, is someone who stands out as a true inspiration and support for me and my journey as a teacher, educational leader, and principal.  Julie and I have kept in touch since my very first graduate teacher year, and she has been a source of wisdom and genuine support my whole career.  She has supported the strategic direction and thinking of many schools throughout her career as a principal, school reviewer and educational leadership coach.  I have a list a mile long of women who I am full of admiration and indebted too.  I wish them all the very best today.

I have invited our leadership team, amazing women in their own right, Millie Swale and Karren Baker, to share some thoughts about inspirational women with you today as well.

Kind regards and Sampai jumpa (until next time),

Matt
