Physical Education

On Tuesday the 14th of March we had 5 students compete at the Kingston Division Swimming Carnival. I would like to congratulate Huw R, Riley A, Riley H, and Liam C for coming in 2nd place in the Freestyle Relay. Liam C and Maddison S also competed very well in their individual events.

Students in years 3-6 have started their new unit with students learning skills and techniques modelled off ice hockey. Students have been thoroughly enjoying this unit due to it being very new for them. We have been focusing on passing (forehand and backhand), as well as puck handling and shooting.

Our Prep students have started developing the fundamental motor skill of throwing (under-arm throw). Students have been using different objects such as bean bags and balls to strive for accuracy when throwing at targets.

I would also like to thank all students, staff, and parent helpers for your participation and assistance on Friday the 10th of March at our School Cross Country Carnival. Without our community's assistance, events like these would not be possible so thank you. Congratulations to students who came in the top 10 for their age group for making Kingswood’s Cross Country Team which will compete at District on Friday the 28th of April at Karkarook Park.
