Curriculum
This week has been very exciting as the students worked hard on their Guided Inquiry campaigns. Students have been preparing for their campaigns, working with like minded peers in areas they are passionate about. We have seen interesting advertisements, posters and brochures to promote the party’s values. We wonder who will win the election!
In Maths we have been exploring shapes and angles. The students ‘Shapeshifter Portfolio Tasks’ will be uploaded to Seesaw very soon for you to have a look at, at home. Students created a shape and assessed their shape against criteria to make it up to a minimum number of points. For example, students could get 2 points for measuring three angles within their shape and could get 1 point if they designed a shape that had a horizontal line of symmetry. It was amazing to see student’s creativity and persistence through this task.
We also finished off our Literature Circles for the term with a reflection about the activities throughout the term. It was great to hear some reflections from students about what their favourite role was and how they overcame challenges within their groups. It seems that the Adventuring Artist was a favourite role for many students!
Camp
We had a fantastic turnout to our information session about Camp which was held via Zoom on Wednesday night. A huge thank you to all families that were able to join. We hope that we were able to answer all your questions and help students feel excited for the upcoming camp! The teachers are all VERY excited!
This year's 5/6 Camp will be held at Camp Oasis in Mount Evelyn from 30 August to 1 September.
Please feel free to send through any questions you may have to your class teacher. If you were unable to attend and would like more information, below is a link to the slides from the night.
