Principal's Message

Term 1 Week 10 2023

Planning Week

This week has been Planning Week for classroom teachers where students have their Specialists all on the one day to allow teachers to collaboratively plan for the next term. Next week will be the Specialist planning days. See below for the Statements of Intents that give a curriculum overview for the term. Our big concept for Term 2 Guided Inquiry is Sustainability and the school value focus will be Respect.

GRIP Year 6 Leadership Conference

On Tuesday our Year 6’s attended the GRIP Leadership Conference. The GRIP Student Leadership Conference is unique in that it concentrates specifically on training student leaders for their role as school leaders. The style, topics, and content of this conference all focus on what the students can do RIGHT NOW.

The students had a fabulous day collaborating with other school leaders, learning how to be a leader that can impact everybody, and brainstorming how to be an “Others First” Leader, learning of strategies to get everyone on board with a new idea The representatives who attended will each share their learning with their teams as a part of Year 6 Leadership Session early in Term 2.

Mr Dix and Mr Burrill were proud of the students, who modelled respect and excellence at all times while representing our school.

Year 5/6 Camp 2023 -

Oasis, Mt Evelyn

Thank you to all of our families who joined us for the zoom focusing on our new 5/6 Camp and our 6/7 High School enrolments. We had over 70 families join and all feedback so far is that it was a very worthwhile session. Unfortunately recording these sessions is problematic with huge files created and so we have decided to provide the slide show  for your reference.

Mount Pleasant Road Primary School requests that parents/carers, students and invited guests who photograph, film or record school activities only do so for their own personal use and do not publish or allow the publication of the images in any form, including on social media, without the prior consent of persons whose children also appear in the images.

There will be designated events where photography is not allowed, for example Production and swimming. Parents/carers, students and invited guests are encouraged not to disrupt others enjoyment of the event, when filming.
