Term 1 Timetable

Grade 4

Year 4's are continuing to grow their understanding of beat. Where we hear it, how we feel it and what it looks like. Today they were inspired to demonstrate their musical knowledge after watching a stick dance from musicians at the Polynesian Cultural Centre. They practised keeping the beat by tapping on the floor and clapping their sticks together. They then progressed to tapping a partner’s sticks within the pattern. Here they are following a pattern of floor, clap, tap-tap, clap together as a whole group. There were moments throughout the session when the group was breathing, beating, and clapping together. They were feeling the beat.

Choir

Choir is open for all year levels to join. It will be open to preps shortly.  Choir rehearsals will be held each Thursday until the 15th March, at which time they will revert back to each Wednesday. Rehearsals are during lunchtime. It's great to see so many students from all year levels getting involved.

New Instruments

Towards the end of 2022, thanks to our donations recieved from your points allocation at Foodworks, we have been able to spend $300 adding to our Ukulele and Xylophone supplies.
